১৯৬৮’র মে মাসে ফ্রান্সে যে ছাত্রবিপ্লব হয় তার কিছু ইস্তাহার-গ্রাফিতি-দেওয়াললিখন-শ্লোগান এইসব দেখছিলাম। এইসব সংকলন করে ‘মনফকিরা’ একটা বই প্রকাশ করেছে। হঠাৎ করে নজর পড়লো, শ্লোগান-ইশতেহার-দেওয়াললিখন-গ্রাফিতিতে ঘুরে এলাম আটষট্টির ছাত্র-আন্দোলন। আন্দোলন সুন্দর, ক্ষমতা-কর্তৃত্ববিরোধী আন্দোলন আরো সুন্দর। আটষট্টিতে ফ্রান্সে ভিয়েতনাম-যুদ্ধ বিরোধী অবস্থান নেয়া থেকে শুরু করে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তথা সমাজের যাবতীয় ক্ষমতাসম্পর্ক ও কর্তৃত্বের বিরুদ্ধে ছাত্ররা দাঁড়িয়েছিল। মে-দিনের এই ছাত্রবিপ্লবকে দেখা হয় ‘পুরুষতান্ত্রিক ফরাসী নেতৃত্বের বিরুদ্ধে সামাজিক বিদ্রোহ’ হিসেবে। একজন হিস্টোরিয়ান বলছিলেন যে, There is a tendency to remember May 68 as a hedonist movement, sexual liberation. But in retrospect we see it was a time of questioning.
আন্দোলনের ইশতেহার, লিফলেট, শ্লোগান, দেয়াল-লিখনে আন্দোলনের সুর ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। এই শ্লোগানে সমাজের বাঁধাধরা রীতিনীতি, পুঁজিবাদ, ধনতন্ত্র, শ্রেণিসমাজ বিলুপ্তির পাশাপাশি মুক্ত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রসঙ্গও বারেবারে এসেছে। যেমন, একটা ইশতেহারে বলা আছে, ‘শুধু পরীক্ষা নেওয়ার জন্যে ফ্যাকাল্টি খোলার বিরুদ্ধে। ধনতন্ত্রের প্রহরী হতে আমরা চাই না’। আরেক ইশতেহারে বলা হচ্ছে, ‘আমাদের এই আশ্চর্য অ-সাধারণ সময় মোটেই তথাকথিত ‘অভিনেতা সাজা’র সময় নয়। বরং তার উল্টো, এখন বেপরোয়া সাহসে বস্তুত সেই আবহে শামিল হতে হবে, যেখানে সাধারন মানুষ ক্রমাগত স্বাধীন প্রকাশভঙ্গীর অন্বেষণে সক্রিয়।’
অন্য এক ইশতেহারে বলা হচ্ছে কীসের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই। ‘আমরা লড়ছি শ্রেণি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, মানে শ্রেণীবিভক্ত সমাজের প্রতিনিধিস্থানীয় শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের বিরুদ্ধে।’ ইশতেহারের ভাষায়, এই সংগ্রাম ‘প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক যাবতীয় বিষয়-আশয়ের বিরুদ্ধেই’। প্রথম পয়েন্টে বলা হয়েছে, ‘ছাত্রজীবনের শুরু থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত যে সামাজিক নির্বাচনের মহড়া চলে, আমরা তার সমালোচনা করছি’। পরে বলা হচ্ছে, ‘আমরা শিক্ষাশাস্ত্রের বিষয়চিন্তা ও তত্ত্ববস্তুর বিরোধিতা করছি। সব কিছুই এখানে এত বাঁধাধরা যে এই ব্যবস্থার মধ্যে দিয়ে যে পাশ করে বেরোয়, তার প্রকৃত জ্ঞান বা অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক বাস্তবতা সম্পর্কে কোন ধারণাই গড়ে ওঠে না, বিশ্লেষণী সূক্ষ্মতার কোন বোধই তৈরি হয় না’। তৃতীয় পয়েন্টে বলা হচ্ছে, ‘সমাজ বুদ্ধিবিদের কাছ থেকে যে ভূমিকা আশা করে, অর্থাৎ, অর্থনৈতিক উৎপাদনব্যবস্থার বাঁধা কুত্তার ভূমিকা – আমরা তারও সমালোচনা করছি’।
ফলে, আন্দোলনকারীদের ভাষায়, ‘শ্রেণী-বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিরুদ্ধে এই সংগ্রাম অবশ্যই ধনতান্ত্রিক শোষণব্যবস্থার বিরুদ্ধে শ্রমিক-সংগ্রামের সঙ্গে জৈবিক সংযোগে উদ্দীপ্ত হয়ে উঠবে।’ তাদের তাহলে কি কি দায়িত্ব নিতে হবে? যেমন, ইশতেহারে বলছেন, জীবিকাবৃত্তি এবং শিক্ষকতাকে যে সমস্ত সম্পর্ক শাসন করে, তা নিয়ে প্রশ্ন করতে হবে, স্কুলে ভর্তির সময়ে যে কোনো ধরণের পূর্বনির্বাচনীয় ব্যবস্থা মানতে অস্বীকার করতে হবে, পরীক্ষা ও প্রতিযোগিতার বর্তমান ব্যবস্থার বিরুদ্ধে সংগ্রাম জারি রাখতে হবে।এই বিষয়াদি নিয়ে প্রকাশ্যে তর্ক করতে হবে। আটষট্টির সেই আন্দোলনের ভাষা, আন্দোলনের স্বপ্ন সব যেনো ঝরে পড়ছি দেয়ালে-প্রাচীরে। দেয়ালগুলো যেন জড় না, জীবন্ত হয়ে উঠেছিল, শ্লোগান তুলছিল। হাতেগোনা কয়টা দেওয়াললিখন তুলে দিলাম –
